Marketing Contest All managers need to come with a idea and implement it for marketing their complex. You will need to complete the following: -Outline of marketing idea At the next annual training you will present your ideas and prizes will be given. Here are a few ideas from the March & April 2004 Rent & Retain Magazine: A Reison to Live Here Betty from Riverside House put Rieson candies in plastic bags with business cards. They distributed them to local businesses with a note that read "Need a Rieson to live at Riverside House?" Walk through the grocery store's candy aisles and you'll be amazed at how many promotions you can pair with candy. Fun, yummy and memorable. Pop By Chande from The Madison at Waterford sends her prospects soda pop and popcorn with a note that says, "Pop by the Waterford to see our awesome specials." Put the soda and the popcorn in a cute bag for a pretty presentation. We like www.NashvilleWraps.com for bags. Cookies from Subway One manager worked out this cool deal with her local Subway. She pays for the cookies (20 cents each) and the Subway folks give out free cookies to people who buy sandwiches. On the cookie sleeve is a sticker with her apartment community's name, phone number and Web address. Subway also has the apartment community's flyers on the counter. This is a neat twist to outreach marketing. This Apartment is Reserved A manager in Cleveland shared this idea with us. Put a RESERVED sign on doors of vacant apartments that are reserved for future residents. This way, as you walk the community with prospects, it adds urgency to the sales process. After seeing all of the RESERVED signs, prospects think they should make their decisions more quickly.
